Aer Lingus – The Irish Flag Carrier 🇮🇪
Founded in 1936, Aer Lingus is Ireland’s national airline, with Dublin Airport (DUB) as its main hub. The airline has a strong network across Europe and North America, offering solid service and a no-nonsense transatlantic product. While it’s not quite as flashy as some of the Middle Eastern or Asian carriers, Aer Lingus Business Class is a fantastic way to cross the pond, especially on their new-generation A321neo.
The A321neo – Small But Mighty
The A321neo is a narrow-body jet that’s ultra-efficient and surprisingly comfortable for a long-haul flight. You get:
✅ Lie-flat seats – Not bad for a single-aisle aircraft!
✅ Personal entertainment screen – Decent selection of movies & TV.
✅ Wi-Fi – Handy for staying connected.
✅ Better fuel efficiency – Good for the planet and (hopefully) ticket prices!
It’s a unique experience flying transatlantic on a narrow-body plane, but Aer Lingus has done a great job making it work.
Pre-Flight – Dublin Airport Lounge & Boarding
One of the perks of Aer Lingus Business Class is priority check-in and lounge access at Dublin Airport. The lounge is a comfortable spot to grab a drink, have a bite to eat, and catch up on emails before boarding.
Boarding was smooth, and I was one of the first onboard. Early boarding means a chance to settle in, get comfortable, and snap a few photos before takeoff.
Onboard Experience – A321neo Business Class
Now, let’s talk about the seat. It’s a 2-2 configuration, which means not everyone gets direct aisle access, but the lie-flat bed makes up for it. It’s comfortable, spacious, and perfect for getting some sleep on the overnight crossing.
Each seat comes with:
✔ A fully lie-flat bed – Great for a proper rest.
✔ A large entertainment screen – Decent selection of films & shows.
✔ Storage space – Handy for keeping your essentials nearby.
✔ Plush bedding & amenity kit – Just adds to the comfort.
For a narrow-body aircraft, Aer Lingus has done an impressive job with the A321neo’s premium cabin.
In-Flight Dining – A Festive Feast 🍽️
One of the highlights of Aer Lingus Business Class is the food & drink. The airline takes pride in its Irish hospitality, and the dining experience reflects that.
🥂 New Year’s Eve Perks – Since this was a NYE flight, there were festive touches, including champagne to toast the new year!
The menu had a good selection, with appetizers, main courses, desserts, and a solid drinks list. There were vegetarian and gluten-free options, plus proper Irish coffee if you fancy something extra.
Arrival in Newark (EWR)
After a smooth 8-hour flight, we touched down at Newark Liberty International Airport right on schedule. Since Aer Lingus offers U.S. Preclearance at Dublin Airport, immigration was already sorted before departure—a huge time saver.
Bags arrived quickly, and just like that, the first trip of the new year was officially underway!
Final Thoughts – Is Aer Lingus A321neo Business Class Worth It?
✅ Great value compared to bigger carriers like BA or Delta.
✅ Comfortable lie-flat seats & solid dining.
✅ Dublin preclearance saves time on arrival.
If you’re looking for a comfortable, premium transatlantic experience without paying crazy first-class prices, Aer Lingus Business Class on the A321neo is a fantastic option.
